Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQR)
Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQR) are the documented values of the welding test.
Welding procedures also provide instructions for the welder to use in order to produce acceptable welds. Welding procedures are developed in accordance with a welding code or standard and require weld samples be produced, inspected, and tested to establish qualification.
Welding procedures are usually divided into two categories; the Welding Procedure Qualification Record (WPQR), which provides the range of approval and the Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), which provides the welding parameters.

BS EN ISO 15614
This British Standard (BS) refers to the specification and qualification of welding procedures for metallic materials. This document applies to production welding, repair welding and build-up welding.
ASME
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers' (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC)
is one of the most well-known regulations for boilers and pressure vessel equipment.
This code establishes rules governing the design, fabrication and inspection of boilers, pressure vessels and other equipment.
Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)
The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) applies to the design, manufacture and conformity assessment of pressure equipment and assemblies with a maximum allowable pressure greater
than 0.5 bar gauge including vessels, piping, safety accessories and pressure accessories.
BS EN ISO 14732: Welding personnel - Approval of welding operators and weld setters
This standard specifies requirements for the approval of welding operators for fusion welding and resistance weld setters for fully-mechanised and automatic welding processes of metallic materials.
Certain industry sectors and some clients require the Welding Procedure Qualifications and Welder Qualifications to be issued by a Type A inspection body under ISO/IEC 17020 which demonstrates impartiality and integrity.
Projects that involve pressurised equipment fall under the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) will require the services of a Recognised Third Party Organisation (RTPO) and a notified body appointed by The Department for British Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS)

Welder Qualifications
EN ISO 9606: Qualification testing of welders
The welder approval/ Qualification test is carried out to demonstrate that the welder has the necessary skill to produce a satisfactory weld under the conditions used in production, as detailed in the approved WPS, Work Instruction or industry standard following a welding procedure.
When successful it will then lead to the welders certification.
Systematic qualification test specifying requirements for the qualification testing of welders for fusion welding of steels.
BS 4872
Approval testing of welders when welding procedure approval is not required.
